As a young woman, Margaret Cotros visited a Greek church in Birmingham, Alabama, during its Greek Pastry Sale. She returned to Memphis and said, "We're going to do this!" Margaret saw how much fun people had tasting delicious Greek pastries, so she decided the Memphis Greek Community should also host a Greek Pastry Sale. What began as a small event has evolved into a Mid-South tradition that 15,000+ people enjoy yearly.
As we plan our annual Memphis Greek Festival for another year, we invite you to embrace our heritage, culture, and love of our Orthodox faith, food, and family. Every generation of parishioners brings the same love and enthusiasm to our annual event. We prepare the delightful food you'll enjoy using cherished recipes passed down from our mothers and grandmothers. Their legacy serves as our guiding inspiration.
We thank you for coming to our festival and hope you enjoy being "Greek for a Day."
